6.6.06
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Revelation, 13:18)
It would be highly uncharacteristic if I were to pass up the opportunity to blog on this very special date, 06.06.06. In fact this evening, on the 30th anniversary of the release of the original British movie “The Omen“, I’m going to see the US remake.
In the mean time, here are some amazing numerological 666 related facts:
- 666 is the 36th triangular number (1+2+3+4+…+35+36 == 666)
- the circumference of a 666 triangle is 105 (35+35+35)
- 666 is 3 occurences of the digit 6
- taking any one digit from 666 leaves 66
- 36+105+3+6+66 == 6 x 6 x 6 (spooky, huh?)
- the first 6 roman numerals from largest to smallest is DCLXVI == 666
- there are only 2 pythagorean triangles with an area made of one digit: (3, 4, 5) with area 6, and (693, 1924, 2045) with area 666666
- (6+6)x(6+6) = 144; the sum of the first 144 digits of pi is 666!!
- the first Apple Computer sold for $666.66
- the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is w - so “www.” shows how evil the internet is!
And one last satanic fact:
- Lucifer literally means light bringer, DCLXVI (666 in roman numerals, see above) is an anagram of DIC LVX, in latin dicit lux: or “the light speaks”.
I’ll try to review the movie tomorrow. Assuming that the world hasn’t ended by then, of course.
