Winding Mountain Roads

Here you see a tiny stretch of the twisty mountain pass section of Route 66 between Oatman and Kingman, possibly the best views of the entire journey, and certainly the best riding of the trip. Even on Harleys, the steep gradients, and hairpin bends along cliff edges were absolutely breathtaking. If there was ever any doubt, this is exactly why I became a biker! It’s a pity our route back to the airport doesn’t bring us back this way.

By the time we’d arrived in Kingman, we’d ridden only 100 miles today. And it would have been nearer 70 if my SatNav hadn’t insisted on showing us Bullhead City en route ;-) Either way, I’m wearing a grin from ear to ear, and will be looking for half an excuse to ride this way again.
