My trusty Vauxhall Omega was in dire need of service, MOT, a pair of new tyres and a general tune up to make it run properly. An ideal time to get rid of it! I guess my midlife crisis has arrived, in that I’ve been feeling an irresistable urge to swap the contents of my bank account for a hugely overpowered fast car for the last couple of weeks. The Omega has given me all the excuse I could ever hope for, and the salespeople at the Japanese import company have offered me 150% of it’s book value against this:

Actually, I had a choice between a silver Fast & Furious R34 at 500bhp (too expensive!), a white R33 at 415bhp and the R33 above at 380bhp. The last two were the same price, and the white one had an in-car DVD player and a decent stereo. But I would have had to wait another week and a half for that one to even arrive in the country before I could inspect it. The one I’ve bought is a year older, so doesn’t need an SVA test, has a much cooler GTR bodykit and original suede GTR interior, the drop dead gorgeous flip paint job, and passed a full mechanical vehicle inspection… and I have just driven it home. Oh. My. God. :-)
