I love Hellboy, I really do, but I’m afraid this book was quite hard going. It starts out quite promising but has a very dull 150 pages in the middle of the book. The ‘God’ of the title is an interesting character, and indeed when his part in the book begins to really take shape close to the climax of the story it becomes a real page turner. A bit disappointing that even as a total fanboy I almost gave up half way through, although the last 100 pages made it almost worth the effort.
